La Pitié de la Pluie Seul N'avait Pas Séché - The mercy of the rain hadn't dried alone

The mercy of the rain hadn’t dried alone
Since pummeling angrily glistening bone
Till sun warmth then night cries erased sacred gloom
Ceasing heavenly laments soft rumbles die
As clouds shift and wander the darkening sky

Scorch cracked Earthen Mother unable to feed
Bare dirt clot nipples give no comfort from need
As thirsting starvation howls arid decay
Ground down with despair desolate peridot
As silent screams beckon a circling crow

Then droplets of blessings like manna profound
Fell unable to saturate hard-cracked ground
Till drinking her fill and then drinking again
Sated, renewed glistening grass softly moans
The mercy of the rain hadn’t dried alone
